The public is being challenged to take $30 worth of items found at Goodwill and turn them into an artistic treasure. You are only limited by your creativity and stock of items that have been donated to Goodwill. Last year a wide variety of items were used and turned into everything from stylish furniture, to functional items for the home, to artwork.
The event becomes a fundraiser for Goodwill’s Workers on Wheels program when the public is invited to vote for their favorite work of art by donating one-dollar to Goodwill. At the end of the event a party will be held and the creations will be sold with Goodwill again getting the proceeds.
Cost to participate in the program is $20 and the artist will receive $30 worth of Goodwill items of their choice. This year Bill Marsh Hyundai will host a kick off event for the public voting period on March 1st. Any artists will be able to display their creation and the public will be able to cast their vote with their dollar.
The contest will conclude on May 3rd at a party in downtown Traverse City’s Ecco Event Space. Full contest rules and details are available at www.goodwillreinventionconvention.com.
