Golfers Sought For Sunday’s Breast Cancer Fundraiser

A golf fundraiser is taking place Sunday to support a Traverse City woman currently battling breast cancer, and more golfers are being encouraged to participate.

Called “Bucks for Bert” the outing is raising money for Bert Lathrop who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Lathrop is an employee of the Bill Marsh Auto Group.

“With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re really hoping people show up to support a local woman who is in the middle of the biggest battle of her life,” says Bill Marsh Jr.

The golf outing takes place Sunday at 1 p.m. at A-Ga-Ming Golf Course on Torch Lake. Cost is $50 per person and includes 18 holes and a cart. There will be a wide variety of prizes, including one for the best pink outfit. A chili dinner will follow.

Anyone wanting more information or wanting to register can contact Ron Smith at (231) 929-8931 or rsmith@billmarsh.com.
