St. Francis Football Fundraiser Scheduled For August 1

The St. Francis Football team has been hitting the weight room, going to football camps, and getting ready for the next football season. They have a lofty goal—they want to be the first St. Francis football squad to have back-to-back state championships. Before they get there though they’re holding a fundraiser at Bill Marsh to help raise money for the football program.

Last year was a great year for the St. Francis football team. It was a year capped off with a state championship win at Ford Field in Detroit. Armed with a strong group of returning players the team has set it sites on a return to Ford Field and another championship run.

The team will head to conditioning camp on August 3rd, but before they get there they’ll work a fundraiser at Bill Marsh on August 1st. The team will conduct its annual “Head Bangin’ Fundraiser.” Now in its seventh year, the fundraiser gives the proceeds for the oil changes at both Pit Row quick oil change centers, plus team members will hold a car wash at the Garfield Pit Row location.

New this year will be an opportunity to raise additional funds through a Hyundai test drive event. Bill Marsh will donate an additional $5 for everyone who takes a Hyundai test drive at the Garfield location.

“We’ve helped the team raise thousands of dollars over the years,” says Bill Marsh Jr. “We hope this is a record fundraiser for the team.”

The Head Bangin’ Fundraiser began as a way for the team to raise money to purchase new helmets for the team. Once that was accomplished coaches set their sites on long-overdue equipment needs.

Team members are currently pre-selling tickets for the car wash and the oil changes, but the tickets will be available at the dealership the day of the event. Find out more about the St. Francis team at www.GTACS.org.
